How To Construct The Atlantic Flyway Quilt

First I made the eight groups of flying geese.  Then the I added the groups of geese to the background to make the eight blocks that surround the center diamond.

Next I constructed the migrating geese border. Then I added the inner border.

After constructing the cornerstone stars it was just a matter of adding all the borders in the correct order.

The finished quilt top.

Regency's Member Guest Golf Tournament

Today was Regency's member Guest tournament. I played with a wonderful person, unfortunately I played really bad.  Not sure what was wrong but something was definitely off today. I felt really bad for my partner. I actually think we came in last place, but I didn't look at the final scores of everybody. The tournament was planned wonderfully.  Food and prizes were great. Thank you lady's at Regency for a wonderful tournament.  Lets just hope that I play better at Piedmont's Member Guest.

Member/Guest Tournament: River Creek

Well, my team won second net! Didn't expect that.  The tournament was wonderful and I had a great time.  The theme was beach so Carol and I went to Five Below and bought a few beach related items. Included in those items were a buggy board, beach mat, and beach towel.

We had fun decorating our carts when we arrived at River Creek on Friday.  Before we started our round of Friday we had brunch and ordered our golf shoes (which were our tee gift). After Friday's round my team was tied for the lead in both gross and net. I never expected that. We came into the clubhouse and had drinks and heavy appetizers. Everything was great.

Saturday was an early morning for me. I left the house at 7:10 AM. When we arrived at River Creek there was a breakfast waiting for us. We also had a hat as another tee gift waiting for us in our cart.  Saturday's mornings round started of really bad. My partner put two balls in the junk on 15 (which is what hole we started on) so it was up to me to play the hole (format was best ball from the two woman team). After a good drive I managed to score a 9 on that hole. Yuck! After that we settled down but I still thought we had no chance with the nine on the first hole.

Atlantic Flyway Quilt

I went to a quilt expo and discovered Deb Tucker's templates.  I bought Deb Tucker's Wing Clipper template along with the Atlantic Flyway pattern that was designed to be used with the Wing Clipper template.

With this template, it was a breeze to make the flying geese.  As you can see there are a lot of flying geese in this pattern.  I liked the colors in this pattern but just wanted to lighten them up a bit.

New Craft Table

My Koala table is in the craft room!!!  Now my next question is where and how to position it.  If I put it up against the wall like I had planned to then I have to pull it out to the middle of the floor to use the extension, and I can't watch TV.  If I turn it around and pull it out from the wall so I can sit behind it to sew, it just looks like a big piece of furniture in the middle of the room.

Craft Table Delivered

I went to a Sewing and Quilting Expo in Baltimore the beginning of May.  I needed a table and cutting mats for my newly renovated craft room. We I found the "Cadalic" of sewing tables. It is a Koala sewing cabinet. You have to go online and look at them, they are amazing.

So, I have waited 6 weeks for my cabinet to arrive. Last Thursday J B Hunt called me to set up delivery. I was so excited that it finally was coming. Delivery was set for Monday. Once it arrived the delivery men could not get it up the stairs, so there it sits in my living room. Long story short, I have to wait until Thursday to have J B Hunt move it upstairs. To make matters worse, they told me not to take off the shrink wrap until it is moved upstairs. So the cabinet has been sitting in the living room and I can't even play with it.

Cleaning up Craft Room

This is what my craft  room looked like before.  What a mess!  I decided to redo the craft room and make it into a more of a sewing/quilting room. Still a work in progress but I think it is much improved.
